Foreign News!
So I DO have that vlog from my launch party that I promised, but honestly, I’ve been so busy and exhausted that it’s still trapped inside my camcorder! I promise to post it soon, even though all you’ll probably hear is loud music punctuated by random snippets of conversation and the occasional wisecrack from the teenagers who were present.
π
But I HAD to stop in and share some really awesome news with you guys! As you know, Little Brown had sold rights to Prophecy in Italy, Russia, France, the UK, Germany, Brasil, and Spain, but what I found out a couple of days ago is that rights have also been sold in Poland, Vietnam, China, Croatia, Estonia, and Serbia. I’m so excited! I’m not gonna lie – it’s just an amazing feeling to know that your work will be read in so many places and that it has the potential to touch so many people. I’m so grateful to the Subsidiary Rights department at Little Brown and to all the foreign publishers who have believed so strongly in Prophecy for so long.
I also wanted to remind everyone that I’ll be at the Jefferson Market Branch Library in NYC tomorrow, August 19th, at 4pm. I’m super excited about this event, because it’s a joint event with my son, Kenneth Zink, who composed the score for Prophecy of the Sisters. I’ll be talking about this very unique collaboration combining writing and music, Kenneth and I will do a joint reading/performance, and then we’ll have Q&A and SNACKS!!!! I hope you can join us! Marie (aka Cupcake Witch) does an amazing job with the events at the library. It’s worth it to come just to see her!
π
Lastly, I’m a little behind on everything but am working to catch up, so if I owe you replies, packages, etc., please be patient with me while I work out the new and wonderful madness that is my life. I promise to catch up SOON.
Mwah!
ETA: Malinda Lo, author of the upcoming book, Ash, just posted at The Enchanted Inkpot an interview we did earlier in the Summer. It makes me laugh at myself a little, because man! I was on a bit of a rant! At the same time, it makes me happy, because even reading it now all these weeks later I remember all over again how passionate I am about this stuff…
Congratulations! I’m glad to know your book will be published here in Brazil. Do you know by chance which publisher is it? Well, I’m actually planning to buy it in English, but that’s just a preference of mine. π
I’ve read several reviews about your book and it’s just making me more curious!
Sorry for commenting so late, I just found your blog today. π
Take care!
Hi, Ana! I’m not sure off the top of my head since my US publisher is in charge of all the foreign sales. I’m so excited to hear what you think once you read it!
π
HI I just wanted to say that your book sounds like it will be a very enjoyable read. I was informed of the book coming out by V. I wish you the very best in your endeavors.
London Boddie
Hello! V’s the greatest (and so talented!), isn’t she?!
Thanks so much for stopping in to say hello. Please stay in touch and let me know how you like Prophecy!
π
Hey Michelle! That’s great news. π I can’t wait for The Guardian of the Gate. π
Thanks, Jen! I’m SUPER excited for that one to be released. I got a peek at the cover a couple of weeks ago and it’s GORGEOUS!
π
That’s great news. Congratulations for you.
And seeing as it’s already sold to Spain and France, I hope it’s just a matter of time before it comes to my own little country … Portugal.
I wish … but we are a very small market …
Either way, if it doesn’t get translated, I’ll just buy it in English. Just hoping here.
Will send good mojo for Portugal, Ana!
π
That’s amazing! So many countries and languages. It will be fun to see all the covers.
I know, right?! The covers are one of my favorite parts, and I think they did an amazing job with the German cover!
π
