Friday Poll – Mean Girls vs. The Notebook!

June 18, 2010

I know a lot of people like to go out on Fridays, but I must be getting old and boring, because our Girls Movie Night has become one of my favorite parts of the week.

It goes like this; every Friday we plan something “fun” to eat for dinner. Sometimes I make tacos or really great burgers and sometimes we splurge on Thai food, but whatever we choose, we eat it while watching a movie “the girls” (aka Rebekah, Caroline, and me) get to choose. It’s a never-fail way of knowing we’ll get at least a few hours together every week with the added benefit of not having to feel guilty if we feel like watching a “girl movie”. Kenneth and Andrew are always invited, but we get to pick!

We don’t always pick a chick flick, but at least we know we CAN.

πŸ˜€

I’m running out the door now to pick up Thai food for tonight’s Girl Movie Night. We haven’t picked a movie yet, but I thought I’d see what YOUR favorite “girl movie” is.

Weigh in with the Friday Poll!!

PS. Don’t forget that tomorrow is our weekly podcast, Burn After Listening. Join Kenneth, Rebekah, and I at 10pm EST for random and often hilarious discussion. And don’t forget to join us in the radio chat room. Kenneth’s Youtube links makes it all worthwhile!

I don’t watch chicflicks. I’m more of the Sci-Fi freak.

Out of those films I had only seen “Mean Girls”. I love that film, it’s hilarious! One of my favourite girly movies.

I chose Shopaholic …I love good shopping and cute stories. We watched Serendipity today and it’s really cute, too.

I was pleasantly surprised with how fun that movie was! It didn’t seem like my kind of movie at first…

PS. We have Serendipity on Instant Play. Almost watched it last night, but went with 10 Things I Hate About You instead.

I’ve seen most of the movies on the list (except for The Notebook), but the only one I even remotely enjoyed watching was How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. πŸ™‚

I actually think that movie is one of the better romantic comedies out there. Funny AND sweet!

Well, this poll is tough for me… yes I do watch plenty of movies! Thanks to mother πŸ˜€ My vote is stuck between The Notebook and How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days! So I decided I wouldn’t vote. I can’t say I’ve seen Meanie Girls, and for me Confusions of a Shop acoholic was more a girly shopping movie so, In Conclusion, after all my blabbering, The Notebook and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days are tied. The Notebook, sad, How to Lose a guy, hilirous!!! Anyway, great poll mother!! πŸ™‚

Thanks, hon! I could have guessed a shopping movie wouldn’t rank high on your list.

Still, two good movies tied for first! You have learned well, young padwan.

I chose 10 Things I Hate About You because my first (embarrassing) choice of Bring It On wasn’t listed.

We just watched that! But I’m still snickering about Bring It On…

Bring it On is an epic coming of age movie with lots of good parts – like back flips and SPIRIT FINGERS!!

I would have to say that Bring it On is probably my biggest guilty pleasure movie. I should check out Bring it On #2, 3 & 4 just to get a choreography kick.

      • June 19, 2010 4:27 pm

And why did I think I chose 10 Things I Hate About You when that wasn’t even an option? 0_O I think I was voting in a totally different poll on another plane… oops.

My all time fave is When Harry met Sally, closely followed by Beaches!

My daughters and I enjoy watching The Perfect Man on our girl nights (Hilary Duff and Heather Locklear) (They are nine and a half LOL)
