First Sighting Contest!!

It is almost exactly three weeks before my official launch date of August 1st, and I’ve received word that my book is shipping from Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

I have stuff I want to say to people – important people – but I’d planned to say it on August 1st and now I’m all…. AHHHHHH! So I’ll save that for the official release date, I think.

In the meantime, I’ve been meaning to post pictures of the real-life, actual hardcover books I received from the distribution center last week (this SHOULD have been my tip off that the books were shipping – duh!). I’ve just been ridiculously busy, and the pictures have been sitting in my camera for almost a week.

But I’m going to share them now just so you know what you’re looking for, because… waaaaaait for it… it’s time for another GINORMOUS contest! For another GINORMOUS SWAG BAG!

First the book!

How gorgeous is this book?! Yes, that is a shiny, shimmery finish you see. Except it’s NOT a finish treatment. It’s actually printed entirely on foil paper which gives it this amazing, shimmery, 3-D quality – especially on the statues. And yes, that is stunning, silvery, platinum blue you see on the inside! Not to mention the shadowed close-up of the statues on the back! Honestly, the pictures just don’t do it justice.

And I can’t take a speck of credit! Alison Impey is the designer at Little Brown behind this magical cover. Between Alison and my editor, Nancy Conescu, my cover really received the royal treatment. Even when I wasn’t sure, their vision drove the finished product – and what a beauty it is! So much so that I have a little secret for you; the UK publisher has decided to use the same cover with almost the exact same treatment. It’s such validation for the hard work that Alison and Nancy put into this stunning cover and one of countless reminders of the amazing talent at Little Brown. I feel incredibly fortunate to have that talent focused on my book. I ❤ you guys!

And now, for the big contest! The ginormous swag bag goes to the first person to submit a picture of them holding Prophecy at a bookstore! But that’s not all, secondary prizes (of my choosing – but they’re good, I promise!) will be given to;

1) the first person to submit a picture of the 12-copy Prophecy display

2) the most original picture of you with the book in a bookstore (I get to pick!)

3) the first submitted picture of the image UNDERNEATH the jacket. Yes! I’ve saved some hardcover surprises for you! There is a VERY cool image underneath the jacket. Be the first to submit a picture of you showing it, and you win a prize.
